When the time came, my film wasn’t among the three finalists; but I still managed to plaster on a smile for the winners, the team from Atlanta.
Nevertheless, I now have a trophy for winning the DC competition, and as it’s the first trophy I’ve ever won, the smile is genuine.
You won the DC competition. Plain and simple.
You deserve it!
Anyone that thinks it isn’t a real trophy and doesn’t mean anything, well I suggest that they show just how easy it is by winning it next year!
And what were your thought on Atlanta’s entry? Did you feel they did a good job and deserved it? Or did you feel cheated and ripped off?
The Atlanta film was just fine; I didn’t think it really stood out as being the best — it was funny and clever, but of the three finalists I didn’t think it warranted best.
I have no idea what criteria the judges used to arrive at their decision, though.
We’ll see what happens in this year’s competition. I’ll be directing our film myself, so watch out. ::grin::
