Just As I Thought

On the silver screen

There’s nothing like seeing something you created on a huge screen — especially after creating it on a small computer display. Every year at the convention for my work, I love to see my video creations on the big 20 foot rear projection screen; but to see last weekend’s movie projected on a huge, wide screen at the AFI Silver Theatre was fantastic… and seeing an entire audience wearing 3D specs was great. We even made sure we had a photograph taken of it, which I’ll post as soon as I get a copy.
Here’s a pretty crappy photo I took with my mobile phone as the show was beginning…

Granted, this was the 4th time that a film I worked on has premiered at the AFI, but this time was somehow more special — maybe because this film was much more of my making that previous ones, maybe because it’ll be my last 48 Hour Film (in Washington, at least). Whyever the reason (love to make up new words, feel free to use that one in conversation), it was a fun but exhausting night.
Now it’s time to turn my attention 100% toward the final packing and whatnot… movers are coming in 3 days and I wing my way west next Tuesday…
