Just As I Thought

Is there anybody who is less deserving of the appelation “credible” than this trashy, money-grubbing, trailer-park skank ho bitch? I guess this sort of thing is easier than getting a job.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) — Paula Jones plans to make her first visit to the Bill Clinton presidential library a profitable one – she plans to wear a T-shirt emblazoned with a sponsor’s name.

“I’m going to make a big show out of it,” said her publicist, David Hans Schmidt. “Paula is basically going to go to the Clinton Library and go on a tour like the faithful taxpayer that she is.”

The visit is expected to take place sometime later this month, and Schmidt said it would be followed by a news conference.

Jones accused Clinton of sexual harassment, saying he made an unwelcome sexual advance in 1991 in a Little Rock hotel room while he was Arkansas governor and she was a state employee. A federal judge dismissed the lawsuit against Clinton.

During an appeal of that decision, Clinton agreed to an $850,000 settlement with Jones that included no apology or admission of guilt.

“I got $151,000,” Jones told the New York Daily News. “That’s gone. I was going through a divorce. I had to get a home for my two boys, I never made bunches of money.”

  • “trashy, money-grubbing, trailer-park skank ho bitch?”
Replace the word “bitch” with “scumbag” and you’ve got a pretty good description of Clinton.

  • Oh, Kirk…
Let’s compare the level of scumbag-ness between the Clinton and Bush administrations, shall we?
Clinton is justly famous for his careful, deliberative manipulation of law: see “It depends what the meaning of is is.” Of course, that was all about a sexual affair which became perjury because of the politically motivation investigation that turned up nothing yet still became an impeachment proceeding. Love those conservatives.
Now, let’s look at today’s news with an impartial eye and decide what those same conservatives would have done had Clinton still been in the White House:
Karl Rove is now officially named as the source of the leak that outed an undercover CIA agent during war time, who just happened to be the wife of an administration critic. His loophole? He didn’t give her name. He just mentioned that she was his wife.
Depends what the meaning of “name” is.
Do you think that Karl Rove is less of a scumbag that Clinton? Do you think that he should be fired, prosecuted, or at least be the subject of as vociferous an investigation as Clinton was? And does anyone out there think that Bush knew nothing about this?

Anyway. I think that one of the more subtle points of my post about Paula Jones is that it’s time to move on from the Clinton era and stop using it as a smoke screen for the much more important abuses of the Bush era.

  • Agreed, however you missed my point.
I wasn’t comparing Clinton to Bush, I was comparing Clinton to Paula Jones. Sorry to waist five very good paragraphs from you (now let this be a lesson in knee-jerk reactions). Look closely, I never made that comparison (nah nah na-na-nah).

I will make one point that has always seemed hypercritical to me- If a conservative politician like say, Governor Arnold (oh, wait) was accused of such acts, would feminist organizations stick by him and crucify his accuser the way they did countless times with Clinton? That always burnt me. If one is willing to support the claims of Anita Hill, then they better do the same for Paula, who quite frankly, has (amazingly enough) more credibility to her story.

I suppose the above isn’t a knock on liberal politicians, but liberal organizations. I suppose we all have an agenda huh?

  • Of course every organization has its agenda — I feel certain that women’s organizations held their nose as they supported Clinton; they made a choice, as many of us did, to support the lesser of evils. A president who is lecherous to women but at the same time supports their rights to determine what happens to their own bodies is much more desirable than a president who is chaste (or seems to be) but wants women to be second-class citizens or a biological vessel.
We all make these choices every day: I was none too happy with the listless John Kerry, especially given that he has comparable family and business links as our current president, but I voted for him in anticipation of an infinitesimal change in our government.
None of this negates the fact that Paula Jones and her right wing Machivellian handlers can’t find any better way to raise cash than to exploit her notoreity one more time. It’s pitiful in the same way as that guy who played Eddie Munster 40 years ago — he looks like an idiot wearing that makeup and doing appearances at his age.

  • “he looks like an idiot wearing that makeup and doing appearances at his age.”
Again, sounds like Clinton… he he
