Sadly, Peter Jennings has died.
Am I the only one who had visions of him at home, recuperating from cancer treatments and working from home? This is pretty shocking that he’s died, taking with him the last vestige of the grand era of network news.
I predict that network news is now gone, as well.
When I saw this news tonight, it brought back memories of Walter Cronkite, Chet Huntley, David Brinkley, and all the other great newsmen of the 20th Century. Mr. Jennings had class. Period. May he rest in peace. And may all other newsmen and women after him have the same dignity, objectivity and, yes, class, that Mr. Jennings distributed during his entire career.
If someone told you Peter Jennings was 67, would you belive them?
Man he looked good for his age.
I didn’t know, I thought he was in treatment. I had no idea he was so close to death.
I’m old enough to remember the great newsmen and he was one of them.
There was a time, when you could trust what you heard on the news, sadly not any more.
He’ll be missed
