I don’t know, maybe the folks here do their business on Eastern Standard Time. By 9:30pm, the streets are deserted and every house is dark, and this morning at 7am sharp, I thought there was some kind of disaster happening.
Nope, it was just a jackhammer tearing up sidewalks and dumping loads of concrete into a truck. This went on until just now, 8am.

Actually, I’m sure a lot of people there do do their business on Eastern Time. When I was in college, I interned at an investment bank in Palo Alto (ah, hard to imagine now), and my boss would get in to the office really early to stay on top of the east coast trading.
