Lavinia Smith, the noted virologist and the aunt of well-known journalist Sarah Jane Smith, has died. She was 81.
Well, actually, Mary Wimbush — the actress who played that part — has died. She was on BBC Radio’s The Archers for 13 years, but was a familiar voice to British listeners for sixty years, appeared in Oh What a Lovely War! and played Aunt Agatha in Jeeves and Wooster.
