I just don’t get it: is it so impossible to predict snowfall amounts, or does the National Weather Service just want to cover their asses to avoid the usual “it didn’t snow as much as predicted” or “they never predicted this much” complaints?
The NWS forecast for the approaching snowfall in DC is four to fourteen inches. That’s a spread of ten inches.
Hell, they might as well just say…

Here is Seattle they stand there and look right in the camera and say tomorrow there is a 100% chance of rain.
