Want to lose weight? Go to the hospital. Seriously. Any kind of serious illness will do it, judging from friends and family who’ve been there.
I can envision a whole new revenue stream opening up for hospitals: the weight loss ward, where people are admitted just because they want to live on an IV for a week and have blood drawn just five minutes after they finally fall asleep.
Still, the hospital experience and the illnesses that land people there can’t be the only way: I was in the hospital for only the equivalent of a full day… and that was three weeks ago.
Could it actually be true? All those old wives’ tales about exercise and healthy diet? Could that really explain how I’ve lost a total of 13 pounds in the last three weeks?
That’s sarcasm, by the way.
