The weather always gives us something to talk about, doesn’t it?
Complaints are coming in from back home, where friends and family tell me it is terribly cold; here in San Jose it has been up to 70° for the last few days, which is more like what I had in mind when I moved here. Of course, we did have a rough cold patch last month, it destroyed crops and closer to home, it killed the honeysuckle vine in my backyard. (I covered my orange tree and it seems to have come through unscathed.) The temps look like they’ll be around 60° for the foreseeable future, but we’re battening down the hatches for a big winter storm that is supposed to start today.
I’ll be winging my way to DC in a few weeks, so I guess I should be prepared for a reminder of what it was like to live there — I’m sure I still have my gloves somewhere around here, and I’ll have to pull out my sweaters and heavy coat. I’m really looking forward to going home — I’ve been very homesick lately — but I am not so excited about freezing.
well the good news is, when ya fly in (on my birthday nonetheless) it will be 50 degrees, but mostly cloudy with chance of scattered showers… but NO SNOW AND ICE!!!
