John Gruber, one of my favorite writers in the Mac world, likes to point out when people are being asses, when they are plagarizing, when they are taking credit for other’s work. It’s one of the things I like about him.
So, explain this:
Back on July 2, three days after the iPhone release, I posted on my blog and emailed John about the list of fonts available on the iPhone. I had taken a lot of time and effort to delve into the phone and make a list of the supported fonts, and I thought it was valuable and interesting information.
I assume that John did too, because today — July 20 — he posted on his blog his own entry about supported fonts on the iPhone. For those of you who are counting, that would be 18 days after I emailed it to him.
And I don’t see any mention of it in his posting.
Perhaps he never got my email — I’m sure he gets far too much in his inbox. Perhaps he did, but forgot it because of other things.
Of course, being an internet juggernaut, his site is now referenced in Google for “iphone fonts” bumping mine off the map, and I feel like I just wasted my time.
Hit back at him by inventing “sarcasm font.” God knows I, and I assume many others, could sure use it.
