There is one piece of paraphernalia necessary for such a project: I needed a bathtub drain stopper.
A cheap little piece of rubber. How difficult could it be to score such a thing? I figured I’d pick one up when I swung by the grocery store.
Nope. They had no such object.
Okay, well, I still figured I could combine it with other errands and purchases, so stopped by Target.
No joy.
Bed, Bath and Beyond?
Well, they had something like it, an ultramodern rubber thing made by the Good Grips brand: a large, flat round piece of rubber. For $8.
You know what? On the way home I found a little independent hardre store, the kind these big boxes have mostly driven out of business.
They had an ordinary rubber drain stopper. $2.
