My answer to Senator Cruz’ quickly backfiring attempt to bolster his position:
Yes, absolutely. So many friends and family now have affordable health coverage – and as a middle class worker who has coverage through my employer, I now pay slightly more of the premium myself. This is perfectly fine with me because the alternative is going into bankruptcy keeping my friends and family from poverty caused by health disasters. Sharing the risk. That’s what it means to be Americans all in it together rather than “every man for himself.”
[Now, as to whether Obamacare goes far enough or reduces the burden on employers? Not gonna get into that one right now!]
