It’s amazing how nice some people are. Today when I got into my office I found letters and packages from people who we brought to our conference last week to speak or perform – all thanking me. The thing is, they all did a great favor to me by coming! Wow – a sweet note from Sara Hickman (to “The fabulous Gene Cowan”); a lovely mug from the Gerda and Kurt Klein Foundation; a sporty Washington Week golf shirt (and balls!) from Kristine Barr at WETA… all of these people made an effort to come to our conference and bring their views to classroom teachers. I only invited them! So, thank you all for being so kind. It was great to work with you and I hope we can do it again! After all, Chicago 2003 is only around the corner… Oprah, can you hear me?
