The inventor of the machine that creates laugh tracks has died.
(Ha ha ha ha ha! ha ha!!) Charles Douglas created a machine which was played like an organ (snicker, giggle) and produced appropriate sounds of laughter for radio and television programs. He won an Emmy in 1992 for his lifetime achievement, making us think something was funny when it may not have been. (Guffaw! Hahahahahaha!!! Applause!!!)
