A wonderful, to-the-point letter to the editor in today’s Washington Post:
Aiding and Abetting

There’s one thing I don’t understand about the April 15 news story “In Plea Deal, Seattle Activist Admits Conspiring to Aid Taliban”:
Why is James Ujaama going to prison for giving money and computers to the Taliban in 2000 and 2001 when the U.S. government provided the Taliban with $43 million in May 2001?

You know, I was on the verge of editing that comment because it contains the home address and telephone number of John Poindexter.
But then I discovered that this information is readily available from Google, and was disclosed by a columnist (see http://sfweekly.com/issues/2002-11-27/smith.html/1/index.html or http://www.politechbot.com/p-04206.html). Since it’s already public knowledge, I’ll leave it be. I do wish that you hadn’t been so cowardly as to not leave your real name.
I’m a little wary of this sort of thing. No one likes to have their privacy invaded, even an invader. I generally live by the maxim “do unto others.” Generally.
