Now I know how Al Gore feels.
Our 48 Hour Film Project film, “An Elephant Never Forgets“, failed to win a “Best of Screening” vote on Monday night, and thus will not move on to the next level.
The “best of” moniker was awarded based on audience voting. This means that the best way to garner an award is to gather all your friends and family to attend the screening and vote. Hardly an objective way to measure the worthiness of the films.
But perhaps that’s just sour grapes. Was winning the most important thing? Maybe not. I enjoyed myself thoroughly last weekend and was amazed at what we did. And we’ll do it again next year.
