Just As I Thought

Who’s responsible

Other people — journalists and bloggers — have talked about this, so I’m a bit late.
Tonight came news that the editor of USA Today has stepped down amid the scandal of yet another journalist fabricating stories.
And yesterday, the head of US Airways resigned, basically because the workers didn’t trust him.
There have been several Bush administration officials who have resigned over the last 3 years, most citing their personal distaste for what was happening and not wanting to be a part of it. But it seems that no matter what information comes out detailing administration gaffes and missteps, no one will be either fired nor asked to take any responsibility for their actions — not even the president.
I’ve never seen an administration that was so adept at sidestepping responsibility for its actions. Even the heads of major corporations have the moral fortitude to admit their culpability for their actions and the actions of those they lead.
