As a followup to my (probably unwarranted) rant yesterday — the one about how PC makers are still prototyping computer designs that Apple has been shipping for years — comes this news: Apple today announced an update to the PowerMac G5. I believe — and tell me if I’m wrong — that this is the first consumer desktop computer to use a liquid cooling system. Now that’s futuristic.
What’s next? Liquid helium? Superconductors?
And what do you do when your G5 springs a leak?
