There’s something quite… surreal about seeing and hearing fighter jets on television, flying over the funeral procession, then hearing and seeing them outside my living room window. Weird.

A close second to that weirdness is watching the same coverage from my townhouse all the way in St. Louis thinking, “I wonder if Gene can hear those planes?”
