Just As I Thought

Case Closed

Maura sends over a list of the Annual Stella Awards, named after the woman who sued McDonald’s after spilling coffee on herself. You know, those ridiculous people who are responsible for the branding of every lawyer as evil and making it impossible for real injustices to be righted (especially after the right wing makes it illegal to sue companies).

Kathleen Robertson of Austin Texas was awarded $780,000.00 by a jury of her peers after breaking her ankle tripping over a toddler who was running amuck inside a furniture store. The owners of the store were understandably surprised at the verdict, considering the misbehaving tyke was Ms. Robertson’s son.

are much more an indictment of the jury system than of lawyers.
It makes me wonder, in a conspiratorial way, if the swirling of these silly suits around the net is being perpetrated by right wing zealots?
