People always want what they can’t have.
It’s amazing to me how many people are now going nuts because the flu vaccine is in short supply. Obviously there are some members of the population who really need it; but I think that the vast majority can do without it and are simply being babies about it.
I have never gotten a flu shot — mostly because I’m lazy beyond belief, but also because I just don’t think it’s that big a deal nor do I think it’s really necessary. I’m a healthy guy, and while I do contract the flu sometimes, it’s not likely to kill me or do anything other than make me feel miserable for a few days.
Tough it out, people. Really.
Meanwhile, a few days ago I posted something about how ridiculous it was that Bush immediately blamed the vaccine shortage on lawyers; it turns out that it was more ridiculous than I thought. Tim helpfully pointed out that there is “immunity” from lawsuits for vaccine makers.
