Let’s keep an open mind here: I’m not saying there’s a cover up and I’m not saying that they’re backtracking, but…
this news briefing by Scott McClellan is just the latest in a long line of non-productive, uninformative turns at the podium. As you’re reading it (or watching it) why not keep a running tally of how many questions Mr. McClellan actually answers? It could be like a fun drinking game — except that you’re never gonna get a buzz that way.
Meanwhile, if you’re at all interested, here’s a timeline of the whole Wilson-Plame-Rove-Leak thing. One interesting thing in this timeline is the placement of the patsy “reporter” known as “Jeff Gannon” into all this.
On All Things Considered yesterday, Daniel Schorr went to town about this, and reminded listeners that this goes back to Bush wanting a reason to attack Iraq, and the whole yellow cake uranium from Africa thing, and Wilson going to Africa and saying there was no evidence, then having the gall to publicly say that the whole thing was basically fabricated by Bush/Cheney, and that the Plame leak by Rove was another petty, mean retaliation by this administration.
