I’m about to do something I haven’t done — well, as far as I can remember, EVER. Since I can count the number of friends I have here in San Jose on one hand… actually, on less than half of one hand — and my interest in film doesn’t jibe with theirs, well, I’m off to see a movie by myself.
I’m off to see the 11:15 screening of “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory,” no doubt made more exciting by a theatre full of kids on summer break. I’ve read some unflattering reviews of Johnny Depp’s performance and Tim Burton’s heavy-handed and dark direction, so I’ll report back later on the outcome.
And you can bet I’ll report on those darned kids.
