So, get this: the Bush administration used “weapons of mass destruction” and “terrorists” as excuses to wage war on Iraq. It turned out that neither existed there. Until we invaded and created the perfect breeding ground for both.
Yes, our war in Iraq served as the catalyst for an entire new crop of terrorists who never existed there before; and today the U.S. military uncovered a chemical weapons plant near Mosul.
Before the hawks start crowing, it was pointed out by a military spokesman that this is a new plant, and does not date from before the U.S. invasion…
so, we’ve not only created a hotbed of terrorism, but we’ve also created a new source of WMD.
In other words, we’ve created our own reason for being there. And ironically, our own reason for getting out of there.
