Fox is so difficult to figure out. It seems like a mentally ill corporation with multiple personalities.
They’ve now canceled “Arrested Development”, quietly and without fanfare. They’ve pulled it from the schedule in November, and will burn off the remaining episodes during low viewership periods this winter.
Fox has this love/hate relationship with good television. They’ve given time slots to such stand out shows as Futurama, Wonderfalls, Arrested Development… but treated them horribly, shifted their timeslots, preempted, and never promoted them. Each of these shows has been a cult favorite, but Fox seemingly doesn’t know how to leverage those cults into bigger audiences and synergy with other Fox networks.
At least they were smart enough to bring back “Family Guy” based upon DVD sales- well, not smart enough, if they were smart enough they would have never pulled it in the first place.
Still, check out that show for two or three episodes- it’s well worth it.
