Interesting site of the day: Metro Arts and Architecture takes a look at the architecture of subway systems around the world. There are some stunning designs out there for subway stations — I’m sorry to say that most U.S. stations are incredibly plain, boring, utilitarian, and lacking in imagination. Surprisingly, even Tehran has beautiful art in its subway.
