Am I the only one who’s confused and a little incensed at the huge media blitz over steroids in baseball? Who engineered this little congressional stunt?
Someone brilliant decided to haul a bunch of famous baseball players in front of Congress to pretend to be concerned about drug use, knowing that all that celebrity hitting power would draw our attention away from other things.
But I keep asking myself why we haven’t seen administration officials hauled into Congress to answer questions on such things as “weapons of mass destruction” and secret energy meetings with Enron; investigations into Tom DeLay’s dealings or the government’s penchant for propagandizing to its own citizens.
