I guess I should have known better than to watch it just because, after all, it was a TV movie of the week remake of The Posiedon Adventure. But right from the get go, it is already terrible because it is opening with a terrorism plot. Oh, please. Why do hack producers feel the need to work “ripped from the headlines” into every single damned project? Is it not enough to remake cheese without adding in another stinky layer? And is it just coincidence that, in this terrorist-era remake, one of the characters is named Richard Clarke?
One of my guilty pleasures is cheesy disaster movies, but frankly, I think I’ll be tuning this one out already. I’m not even mollified by the cast filled with second-rate has-been celebs like Steve Guttenberg and C. Thomas Howell.
