Okay, well. I enjoy making fun and criticizing the vice president as much as or more than most people, but this is getting ridiculous. The media frenzy over the accidental shooting the other day is getting in the way of so much other news, and in fact, my conspiracy-laden mind keeps conjuring up images like this:
CHENEY: Karl, I shot a guy.
ROVE: Again?
CHENEY: He wandered into my sights. He’s a lawyer.
ROVE: Cripes. Okay, don’t say another word. Keep it to yourself. Let someone else release the news, because you’re in line for a lawsuit.
ROVE: Is this the anonymous tip line?
LOCAL NEWSPAPER: Whatcha got?
ROVE: Cheney just shot someone. But keep it under your hat, I wouldn’t want this story to distract people from what the Bush White House is up to.
