We all know — well, at least those who are of moderate intelligence — that the strategy of the right wing is to divide and conquer, compartmentalizing different groups and then systematically working them against each other until the world is a big bubbling pot of hatred.
What, you don’t believe me? Well, read for yourself. These confidential documents are from NOM, the “National Organization for Marriage,” which created them as internal strategic goals for accomplishing their goals. The documents were unsealed as part of an investigation into the campaign finance activities of NOM in Maine.
A sample gem of an idea from NOM’s “National Strategy for Winning the Marriage Battle”:
“The strategic goal of this project is to drive a wedge between gays and blacks—two key Democratic constituencies. Find, equip, energize and connect African American spokespeople for marriage, develop a media campaign around their objections to gay marriage as a civil right; provoke the gay marriage base into responding by denouncing these spokesmen and women as bigots…”
“Hollywood with its cultural biases is far bigger than we can hope to be. We recognize this. But we also recognize the opportunity – the disproportionate potential impact of proactively seeking to gather and connect a community of artists, athletes, writers, beauty queens and other glamorous non-cognitive elites across national boundaries. (This is applying the Witherspoon and IAV model to non-intellectual elites.)”
